Position Overview

Milford Christian Academy is seeking a caring, responsible, individual to provide after school supervision of preschool and elementary students in a safe and engaging environment between the hours of 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on school days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe and supervise children during play, snack time, homework, and other activities to ensure their well-being.
  • Maintain a clean and well-maintained space while adhering to safety regulations, and implementing appropriate procedures for emergencies.
  • Provide clear guidance and expectations: establish rules and routines, and implement appropriate discipline strategies in accordance with school policy.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Ensure proper hygiene practices during snack time.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate and engaging activities that cater to children’s interests and developmental needs.
  • Provide homework assistance and academic support.
  • Encourage social and emotional development by facilitating interactions between children that promote teamwork.
  • Communication and Collaboration. Identify and address concerns related to behavior and emotional/developmental well being with the student’s parents/guardians.

Qualifications

  • Staff members must have a clear testimony of salvation and a desire to share the Gospel with the lost.
  • Staff members must have a personal testimony in both their personal and professional life that glorifies the Lord.
  • Staff members must be active, faithful, tithing members of First Baptist Church of Milford or a church of like faith and doctrine, approved by the pastor of First Baptist Church of Milford.
    • Active—regular, voluntary Sunday, Saturday or Thursday evening service.
    • Faithful—attend all church services on Sunday (Life/Growth Group or Sunday School, morning worship, evening worship) and Thursday, as well as special services such as revival services and missions conference.
    • Tithing—regular tithing (10% or more if God leads) of gross income at each pay period.
  • Staff members must submit to state and federal background checks prior to employment and every five years thereafter. Failure to pass the state or federal background check will forfeit the opportunity for employment at Milford Christian Academy.
  • Staff members must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Staff members who do not teach must possess the required credential as required by the state of Ohio.
