Substitute Teacher

Position Overview

Milford Christian Academy is seeking a responsible, flexible individual to serve as a substitute teacher. Substitute teachers provide temporary classroom coverage when regular teachers are unavailable, ensuring continuity of instruction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction and classroom management in the teacher’s absence.
    • Become familiar with and follow classroom policies and procedures.
    • Follow lesson plans and daily schedule prepared by the respective classroom teacher.

Qualifications

  • Substitute teachers must have a clear testimony of salvation and a desire to share the Gospel with the lost.
  • Substitute teachers must have a personal testimony in both their personal and professional life that glorifies the Lord.
  • Substitute teachers must be active, faithful, tithing members of First Baptist Church of Milford or a church of like faith and doctrine, approved by the pastor of First Baptist Church of Milford.
    • Active—regular, voluntary Sunday, Saturday or Thursday evening service.
    • Faithful—attend all church services on Sunday (Life/Growth Group or Sunday School, morning worship, evening worship) and Thursday, as well as special services such as revival services and missions conference.
    • Tithing—regular tithing (10% or more if God leads) of gross income at each pay period.
  • Substitute teachers must submit to state and federal background checks prior to employment and every five years thereafter. Failure to pass the state or federal background check will forfeit the opportunity for employment at Milford Christian Academy.
  • Substitute teachers must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Substitute teachers who teach preschool must meet the employment requirements as required by child care licensing.
  • Substitute teachers who teach students in kindergarten through twelfth grade must possess a Permanent Non Tax certificate from the Ohio Department of Education, which requires a Bachelor’s degree. Verification of this credential through the Educator Profile will be done by school prior to hiring of personnel.

  • Reference and background checks
